Straparound Boot | Black cordovan
The Straparound Boot is a study in restraint — a clean, architectural silhouette defined by a single continuous strap that wraps the ankle with quiet authority.
The upper is cut from shell cordovan in black and reverse black, two distinct finishes of the same noble leather. Shell cordovan is taken from the fibrous flat muscle beneath the hide of the hindquarter, prized for its density, its resistance to creasing, and the deep, burnished lustre it develops slowly over years of wear. The reverse face offers a matte, almost velvety counterpoint — the same material read in an entirely different register.
Each pair is Blake stitched and built entirely from leather throughout: sole, insole, heel, lining, and stiffeners. Blake construction keeps the profile close and the feel immediate underfoot, allowing the shoe to flex naturally from the first wear. This boot is made to order at Andrew McDonald's workshop at Shop 121, Level 2, The Strand Arcade, Sydney, and can be fitted with a rubber top piece to the leather sole upon request.
