Jesus Mandal | Reverse Cordovan
The Jesus Mandal is a sandal stripped to its essentials — a single leather upper, an open silhouette, and nothing that does not need to be there.
The upper is cut from reverse black shell cordovan, presenting the flesh side of the hide rather than the characteristic glassy shell surface. Where standard cordovan is known for its mirror-like finish, the reverse face offers a subtle, matte nap with a depth that softens over time and wear. The sole, insole, heel, and lining are all leather throughout, with no synthetic components.
The sole is attached by Blake stitch, a single-thread construction that keeps the profile lean and the connection between upper and sole direct. Each pair is made at Andrew McDonald's workshop in The Strand Arcade, Sydney, to the same standard applied to the full bespoke range.
