Lace around boot | Bison overdye
A lace-around boot with an open, unhurried silhouette — the kind of shape that becomes more itself with wear rather than less.
The upper is cut from bison leather treated with an overdye finish, giving the hide a depth of colour that shifts subtly across the surface. Bison grain is more pronounced than calf, with a natural variation that resists uniformity; the overdye process builds on this, allowing the leather to develop a patina that is distinctly its own over time.
Constructed using the Blake stitch method for a close, lean profile between upper and sole, the boot is built entirely in leather — sole, insole, heel, lining, and stiffeners — assembled at Andrew McDonald's workshop at The Strand Arcade in Sydney. A rubber top piece can be added to the leather sole for an additional $60.
