Half boot | Grey Yak
A half boot of quiet authority — close-cut and unadorned, with a silhouette that sits as comfortably beneath a suit trouser as it does with denim.
The upper is cut from grey yak leather, a hide prized for its dense, slightly waxy grain and its ability to develop a deep, mottled patina with wear. It carries colour with a restrained, matte quality that few other leathers match, softening gradually over time rather than demanding attention.
Constructed using the Blake stitch method — favoured for the slim profile it lends through the waist — and finished with a chestnut vegetable-tanned leather sole. The full leather interior, including insole, heel lining, and stiffeners, is made in-house at Andrew McDonald's workshop in The Strand Arcade, Sydney. An optional rubber top piece can be added to the sole for an additional $60.
