Straparound boot |Turquoise horse
The Straparound boot is a considered silhouette — a wraparound strap lending quiet structure to a form that reads equally well with tailoring or denim.
The upper is cut from turquoise culatta horse, a dense, close-grained leather taken from the rump of the hide. Culatta is prized for its tight fibre structure and natural waxy surface, which deepens and develops a rich patina with wear. The turquoise here is a considered choice — vivid in intention, but grounded by the material's inherent depth.
Built at Andrew McDonald's workshop in The Strand Arcade, Sydney, the boot is Blake stitched to a chestnut-tanned double leather sole. The all-leather construction extends through the lining, stiffeners, and heel. A rubber top piece is available as an optional addition for $60.
