Blind Derby Boot | Mud | frisone
The Blind Derby Boot presents a clean, unbroken front — its lacing drawn through concealed tunnels in the leather so that no eyelets or lace runs disturb the surface. The result is a boot of quiet coherence, spare and considered in its line.
The upper is cut from frisone horse leather, its open and pronounced grain receiving a mud staining that builds across the surface in layers of brown, ochre, and deeper shadow collected in the recesses. No two hides respond identically; the colour shifts with wear, deepening where the leather flexes and catching light differently as the grain takes on a natural patina over time.
Made entirely by hand in Sydney at The Strand Arcade, the boot is constructed on last 7577 with a round toe and finished to Andrew McDonald's bespoke standard. Construction method and sole specification are confirmed at the time of order.
